Many rail operators are now using module design principles which allow for individual components of the train to be easily removed, replaced or reconfigured, making it easier to adapt the train to different passenger needs. Reconfigurable interiors, including flexible walls and partitions as well as movable seating, mean that train operators are now able to create different configurations of the train, creating more space for luggage or providing a more private experience for passengers. What are the options for flexible design and how are they being implemented in practice?
