Regulatory developments affecting manufacturers and operators testing to BS EN 45545-2:2020 (EU Standard for Fire Testing of Railway Components)

Dennis Tuyogon, a Chartered Chemist (RSC-UK), is the Lead Analytical Chemist within Warringtonfire’s Technical Competence & Governance unit. With over 15 years of experience, Dennis has contributed to the enhancement of fire testing capabilities since joining in March 2024.
He leads the analytical chemistry operations, including instrumentation, methods, and procedures, with a focus on continuous improvement and the integration of advanced techniques, all while maintaining adherence to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). One of his recent achievements was overseeing the commissioning of a new FTIR unit, ensuring alignment with the latest BS EN 45545-2 standards.
Dennis also serves as the Chair of the Transport Product Sector Group at Warringtonfire and is actively involved in shaping industry standards as a committee member for two BSI Fire Safety Standards (FSH/16 and FSH/19). He holds dual PhDs in Environmental Analytical Chemistry from the University of Liverpool and National Tsing Hua University (China), along with master’s degrees in Soil Chemistry and Materials Chemistry.
