Škoda Group will equip new trolleybuses for the Italian city of Genoa with complete traction equipment. It has been chosen as a key supplier by Solaris Bus & Coach, which will deliver a total of 112 articulated 18-metre trolleybuses to northern Italy.
The first winners of a new prize rewarding innovation in the rail interiors industry have been revealed. The Rail Interiors Awards 2023 recipients were announced at a special event on the evening of 8 November at The RedCabin Railway Innovation Summit, held in Vienna, Austria. RedCabin and the organisers of The Rail Interiors Show joined forces to create the awards.
The Rail Interiors Show 2023, hosted at the PVA Expo in Prague, Czech Republic, on 25-26 October 2023, brought together more than 40 participating companies and over 600 attendees. Organised by the publisher of Railway Interiors International, the event served as a global hub for designers, engineers, specifiers and brand managers eager to explore the forefront of rail-car interior concepts.
The organisers of the world’s only dedicated rail-interior events have joined forces to create The Rail Interiors Awards, accolades that are designed to reward innovation from and by rail suppliers, operators, design houses, and rail carriage manufacturers.
ÖBB's Nightjet fleet expansion began with an initial order for 13 Nightjet trains, valued at £1.5 billion, as part of a framework contract signed in 2018. Building on this foundation, an additional order for 20 Nightjets was signed in 2021. Now, with this latest order, ÖBB is set to welcome 33 brand-new Nightjet trains into their lineup.
Alstom, has clinched a significant deal with the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) to provide 60 single-level rail coach cars. The contract, valued at approximately €285 million (approximately USD $315 million), also includes options to manufacture an additional 313 cars. The delivery of these state-of-the-art rail cars is scheduled to commence in 2026.
